Dating back to Mexico's ancient Olmec civilization, the history of chocolate is just as rich as the treat we've come to love today. Now widely known as a sweet treat, chocolate was revered as a gift from the gods, a form of currency, or even a medicine to earlier civilizations like the Mayans and the Aztecs.

Tasked with a packaging project in which students had to create a unique brand story for a niche product, I created a fictional brand called AH-MEN. The first of its kind, AH-MEN is a chocolate bar made by San Francisco-based Mayan descendants Louisa and Pilar Bol, self-proclaimed "chocolatiers by day and mediums by night", who wanted to create an all-natural, chocolate-inspired solution to aid today's anxious generation that prefers the naturopathic route to pharmaceuticals.

Consulting with chocolatiers and medicine men from centuries past, they came up with AH-MEN, a high end, two-bite chocolate bar to soothe your daily nerves.
